Allée Bleue Shiraz 2018
Can we just be serious for a minute? “Fridge reds are so hot right now!” Yeah, we know. But we can we just drink something serious for once. The perpetual reach for levity through our drinking choices is enough to give one an optimism brain freeze.
Fortunately, this supremely lush ripe-styled new world shiraz is nothing of the sort. It’s broody, perhaps even slightly balshy right after opening. It makes you want to play Nick Cave…on vinyl. And in case you needed further encouragement, it was also on the podium at the Winemag TopTen Shiraz Wine Awards.
Ripe black fruit; Malolactic conversion in barrel. Another 15 months in french oak. 55% New. Boom goes the dynamite.

That smoky note is so moreish. Lovely "by the fire" shiraz. Many thanks
