#128 Caravel Wines Second Chamber Carignan 2019
The Cycle Continues
This is the second vintage of the Caravel Wines’ Carignan releases. The 2019 vintage uses fruit from the Breedekloof, and enlists both the viticultural experience and winemaking nouse of hotshot Elisme Visser.
This wine showcases all the characteristic Visser elements (delicacy, elegance, poise…can we add “femininity”? Is the word still allowed to mean something?).

It’s quite different to the previous vintage, which was from the Voor-paardeberg, vinified by Matt Copeland, but the change has certainly not done its reputation any harm. The Platter Judging panel seemed to agree, awarding it a 4.5* award.

Loved it! Delicious red fruit coming through with lovely smooth mouthfeel! Paired beautifully with tuna steak👌🏼👌🏼
Dave! That's sounds rad! I'll need to test drive that pairing. Glad you enjoyed it!
