Kanonkop’s world-renowned Paul Sauer 2019 (Bdx Blend) has been released and the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon will go on sale on 01 October 2022.

In the run up to the Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 release, I tasted through a full range of older Kanonkop vintages, and discuss both the new releases and their older siblings.
I also unpack how the estate has developed over the past 40 years or so, and share some thoughts the problems with “speculative wine scores”, and the use of the 100pt wine scale on wines that are very clearly built to age over a decade or two.
