=====================
The end-of-an-era bottling
👃🏼 Naartjie, fresh-cut apple, and white peach, with oatmeal.
Classic flinty reduction (think struck match), softened by subtle hints of… I want to say daisies… but they don’t even smell that good. It’s a sweetish, pollen-like hint that’s not quite jasmine.
👄 Linear. Taut. Mineral.
That zip down the sides of your tongue? Pure salinity.
Then: creamy citrus oil texture—lemon zest folded into clotted cream.
Lifted acidity (not spiky), and a subtle thread of almond brittle throughout, thanks to the oak/concrete ferment combo.
Bottom line?
This wine is both culmination and transition—
a last hurrah for Elgin Palmiet,
and a sneak preview of Piket-Bo-Berg’s bright future.
