Grown high up in the Swartberg, with shale soils, and almost no topsoil, these grapes are used to a struggle. The end result of all the trauma is a staunch, concentrated big wine, with plenty of structure, as well as some lovely fruit layers, and formiddable acidity.
A blend of Touriga Naçional 57%, Tinta Barocca 26% and Souzao 17%. Co-fermented in open cement fermenters, then in seasoned in older oak (third fill or more) for a period of 9 to 18 months. Then stored in stainless steel until bottling.
