#138 Force Celeste Cinsaut Rosé 2020
Malmesbury: the Wild West of winemaking
Winemaker Johan Stompie Meyer has made some fairly wild and funky wines under the Force Celeste label…but every single vintage that passes sees his wines getting cleaner, and more focused – even on the entry level end of his range. This Swartland Cinsaut Rosé comes from a single vineyard West of Malmesbury planted in 1987. All bush vines, and all dry-land farmed. So…Swartland proper.

As with all of Johan’s wines, these classify as “natural wines” in the strictest sense of the term. Fruit is from organically farmed vines; with no filtering or fining; no added sulphur, and no added yeasts. The block is 34 years old this vintage, which will make the 2022 vintage the first time that they qualify to be certified by the Old Vine Project.
