Old School New World Shiraz
Most of the wine drinking world has, by now, acknowledged that the Constantia Wine Region, with its 350 years of winemaking history, produces world class sweet wines, and some truly formiddable Sauvignon Blancs, and Sauvignon/Semillon blends.
But perhaps a lesser known fact is that, in good vintages, Constantia Reds can deliver something really rather special, with very decent aging potential. This 2003 Shiraz is just one little bit of evidence to support the claim.

👴🏼 The drinking/cellaring advice on this bottle was written in 2005. It said “ready for immediate consumption, but has good maturation potential”.
Seventeen years later, it is still kicking, and gives us a lovely glimpse into the journey that Shiraz can take over two decades.
