🧑🏻‍🌾 Winemaker Krige Visser (of Mount Abora fame) is never afraid of a little controversy, and this unusual blending of Merlot Mataro is one of the milder expressions of his desire to stick it to the man. As his is usage of the term “Mataro”, rather than the locally recognised Mourvedre.

🍷 This is superbly meaty wine, with waves of fruit, and tannins to support it all! Both Merlot and Mataro get their chance to speak in the dialogue between the two, with Merlot’s cassis, sage, oak and plum meet Mourvedre/Mataro’s black olive, and fragrant violets. Lovely silk oak finish.
