A Roussanne of true pedigree. Farmed and vinified by the team at Opstal Estate in the Breedekloof, the fruit is organically farmed from one of only two blocks of Roussanne in South Africa. The block was planted in 2014, so it’s only 8 years old, and if the restorative farming ethos is maintained, this block only going to improve.

That said, award-winning winemaker Attie Louw (of the Carl Everson Chenin Blanc fame) has managed to deliver something truly special, even with young vines.

👃🏼 A generous green pear fruit, some white peach?? cardamom, nutmeg, raw almonds, orange peel. Truly beguiling.

👄 Textured and waxy up front, chewy, good concentration, zesty fry finish. Lingering pear fruit with brighter acidity, keeping the jowls watering into the finish.
