A call to action!

If you have yet to sign up for your Monthly HanDrinksSolo Wine Subscription then you’ll have to hunt this wine down in your own time. But until then, here are my tasting notes and some technical specs:

Tasting notes:

👃🏼 This is one of the most extroverted Sauvignons in  South Africa. The nose positively explodes with a dizzying mix of elderflower cordial, lime leaf, guava, and (believe it or not) a subtle savoury hint of white asparus.
👄 The palate does its part to make sure it’s not outdone by the vanguard attack; for its part, it’s dramatically weightier than most South African Savvy Bees. The fruit components are concentrated and surprisingly weighty, showing elements of sweet pineapple, Seville orange, and delightfully bitter-juicy freshly squeezed ruby grapefruit juice.

Technical Specs:

🔬 Wine of Origin Elandskloof. 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard is planted dominantly with clone 316 vines, alongside a tiny parcel of French clone vines. The soils are mostly decomposed sandstone, and lie at roughly 700m ASL. The oldest portions of the Sauvignon Blanc blocks were planted in 2003.
The 2024 harvest begain on 28 February and continued with multiple picks over the next 12 days.
